Health and Social Care Secretary Andrew Simpson told the BBC last week that the Department of Health’s (DH) has “engaged in a ‘totalitarisation’” of the NHS by offering free Viagra and other medicines to men with erectile dysfunction.
The new research, published in the British Journal of Sexual Medicine, was funded by a £1.5m grant from the NHS Foundation Trust, the Sexual Advice & Social Care Branch of the Department of Health and Social Care, and the DH’s Sexual Advice and Social Care Group.
The DH has made the new findings available on the NHS website.
Dr David McCullough, spokesman for the DH, said: “We are very pleased with the results of this new study, which is part of the ongoing research on the use of the NHS.”
“It shows that there is a significant increase in the proportion of people taking an erectile dysfunction medicine that are using Viagra.
“However, we are concerned that the results are not really telling the whole story and it may not be that important for people who need them to have an erection.”
Dr McCullough said that although the study was designed to answer some questions about the impact of erectile dysfunction on men’s quality of life, it should be seen as a “bargain, not a game”.
He added that although the study was funded, and the findings will be available on the NHS website on Tuesday, “it will be important for people who need ED medicines to see them in person at the start of their treatment.
“It is likely that it will also be useful for men who have erectile dysfunction who may not be able to use ED medicines.”
The study was conducted by a group of seven men aged 18 to 40 who were prescribed Viagra, which contains the active ingredient Sildenafil. They were also receiving a daily dose of sildenafil to help with blood pressure.
They took a daily dose of 25mg of Viagra, which is the active ingredient in the prescription Viagra for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
The study was led by a group of three men aged 18 to 40 who had been prescribed the medicine for erectile dysfunction. The researchers measured blood pressure during and within 30 minutes after each dose.
Both men took 25mg of the medication and were able to have sex.
The dose of the Viagra was taken at least 30 minutes before sexual activity.
They did not experience any sexual side effects. They were able to have sex again after three or four hours.
The study was funded by a £1.5m grant from the NHS Foundation Trust, the Sexual Advice & Social Care Branch of the Department of Health.
“The research was funded in part by a £1.5m grant from the NHS Foundation Trust and in part by the Sexual Advice & Social Care Branch of the Department of Health. The findings have been made available to the public on the NHS website.
“There is no evidence to suggest that the researchers were influenced by any of the other conditions and conditions that have been included in this study.”
Dr McCullough added that the study was “very important” and “the findings have been shown to be very important for the NHS to deliver on its promise to the public.“This is important to highlight because the NHS has been a major player in the fight against this type of gender bias.”
“In the UK, we have made the decision to stop the widespread use of the term “gender bias” in the media and social media to include men in the sexual health care system,” Dr McCullough said.Viagra is a FDA approved prescription medication for the management of erectile dysfunction.
